Only 1 in 4 adults and 1 in 5 adolescents in the United States meet physical activity guidelines for aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities. Approximately 36% of adults do not engage in any leisure-time physical activity at all.

But we’re gonna change that…

Why Choose Strength and Joy?

Heyo, Mykayla here…

Let’s talk a little about how Strength and Joy can help you.

  • Whether your goals are to lose weight, gain muscle, or simply find confidence around intimidating gym equipment: my services to you will help achieve those goals. I can’t do the work for you, but I will be by your side every step of the way.

  • Movement is a privilege, not a burden. It’s not that we have to move, we get to move! If you’re here, chances are you’re ready to start living a more active lifestyle. Not only is it good for your health, but it’s also GREAT for your mood!

  • Ah yes, mood. The thing that wants to bring us down so often. Did you know exercise actually improves our mood? Working out causes our pain receptors to respond to the exertion, and in return: our endorphins (aka, happiness hormones) swoop in to neutralize them. It’s one of the reasons exercise is great for relieving symptoms of anxiety and depression in many individuals.

Now that we’ve talked about why you’re here, let’s talk about why I want to help you!

“Mykayla is a great personal trainer, she helped coach me through my gym shyness and got me confident in my workout routines! Enjoyed her style and pacing. Really appreciated that the sets were not boring either - I felt like I was learning something new every time! Thank you again Mykayla!"

If you’re ready to take the first step,

you’re already halfway there.

Why move?

“I work all day, by the time I get home I’m too tired to workout”

“I’d like to be more active, but I just don’t have the time”

“Going to the gym is boring, I hate it”

“I have a gym membership, but I never use it”

“Half the time I don’t know if I’m doing the exercises correctly”

Sound familiar? If so, you’re not alone.

The truth is most of us have good intentions when it comes to taking care of ourselves, but we lack the proper execution. Our motivation runs out because we don’t see results right away.

What if motivation was as simple as finding a routine you actually enjoy?

Fitness is not just an activity, it’s a lifestyle. One that must be maintained..

The good news is: it’s not as hard as it sounds.

My goal as your coach will be to help you find that enjoyable activity. Working out shouldn’t feel like a chore. If it does, chances are you’ll be less likely to stay consistent with it.

That’s why we’re going to do this together, and find the activity that works for you. Together we can kick these sedentary living statistics to the curb!
